Many people want to know what they can do to help google find them.

The only 2 ways to get better rankings are to add more text to your site (preferrably relevant to your chosen keywords), or to get more people to link to your site.

ï Links
ï Well written text

The most important thing is to convince other relevant websites to link to you. One of the main criteria for a good G rank is the amount of incoming links. There is no indication that this will change in the near - distant future.
Usually this involves reciprocal linking as a mutual exchange, since you are requesting an acknowledgement on their part, and asking for an endorsement.

If you don't want to link to other similar but non competing websites, a good option is to send out press releases to news organizations and trade publications. If you're lucky (and good at PR) they publish your story and link to your site.

About the linking part, just a little thing that will help you a bit more is having your keywords in the link that links back to you. So when you request a link exchange, it is always a good idea to provide your potential link partner with the HTML that you have written for them to just cut and paste into their pages.
