In all honesty, it is best to outsource email marketing. Anyone who has tried any kind of email marketing will tell you this. try listchannel.com

There are many variables and pitfalls to fall into. These include legal, as well as spam problems. Getting emails past spam filters is an art in itself. Always only send email to people who have requested it, or opted in.

Doing your own list is pretty easy with a very small list. I use a little Windows program called Emailing List Pro, which only cost about $20, to mail to my private supporters list (under 300), top affiliates and resellers (less than 100), and it's not a big problem. I used to do my newsletter with it, and it became a huge problem with 5,500 subscribers.

I lost most of the list when I finally moved it to a hosted service because they required subscribers to respond to a one-time confirmation email. Any professional service is going to require confirmation when you load your list, BTW, if they don't they're inviting spammers.

I wish I'd outsourced it from the beginning. It's not that expensive. If you can't afford to pay for it, you may as well use Yahoo Groups or something, which is free, reliable, and easy to implement.
