you should avoid hyphens if possible. I always recommend businesses get a unique name, not a keyword stuffed name.

Think of the inventors of Skype or Nike - both unique names (NIKE is the Greek Goddess of Victory), but hard to forget.

Now think tennis-basketball-running-golf-scoccer-shoes.com

It doesn’t have the same ring to it. There is NO search engine benefit to having a keyword stuffed domain name. Let me repeat: DO NOT get a keyword stuffed name in an attempt to get better rankings. It won't help in the long run.
