BigDaddy is the codename for the most recent Google update, which is occurring at the end of March 06.

It fixes a lot of problems, like canonical names (www.domain. com and domain.com)

Personally I have seen little changes for websites I work on.

you can check rankings in multiple data centers

Google’s Bigdaddy Update doesn’t, only deals with the canonical problems as stated by you. In fact, Bigdaddy is the successor of the big updates like: Austin, Florida. It is also taken as the final phase of the “Jagger Update”.

Bigdaddy evaluates the site relevancy on these points:

- redirects
- reciprocal links
- canonicalization
- duplicate content

(For more details on Google updates: http://www.organicspam.com/chronology_of_events.asp)

The deal here is between Google and the spammers to befool the users.

[b:e7cf86a198]Bigdaddy update is a love triangle between Bigdaddy update-spam and adwords revenue. [/b:e7cf86a198]With the update, there had been drastic change in the organic listings with more spam. So, users started opting for more relevant paid advertisements, and hence Google’s adwords revenues shot up.

(see: Google’s Income statement: http://www.organicspam.com/organic_spam_and_google.asp, http://www.organicspam.com/organic_spam_and_revenues_co_relation.asp)

And the game is not over yet. To make the matter worse, Google ranks the sites running adwords near top rankings. So, it implies that – If you want to be seen in Google you have to pay them – create adwords account.

[b:e7cf86a198]So, the question remain What’s the deal?[/b:e7cf86a198]
