We have encountered a strange problem;

Theses are the following observations (As on 10 march):

Case 1) when you type this URL in the browser: http://www. shaadi.com/
According to the toolbar PageRank: 3
cache:http:// www.shaadi.com/
Does not match any documents.
links:http:// www.shaadi.com/
Does not match any documents.
related:http:// www.shaadi.com/
Gives weird results.

Case 2) when you type this URL in the browser: http:// shaadi.com/
According to the toolbar PageRank: 3
cache:http:// shaadi.com/
Shows a page, which was uploaded before 13th Feb.
link:http:// shaadi.com/
Does not match any documents.
related:http:// shaadi.com/
Gives weird results.

Case 3) when you type this URL in the browser: http:// shaadi.com/index.php
According to the toolbar PageRank: 2
cache:http:// shaadi.com/index.php
Shows a page, which was uploaded before 13th Feb.
link:http:// shaadi.com/index.php
Does not match any documents.
related:http:// shaadi.com/index.php
Gives weird results.

Case 4) when you type this URL in the browser: http:// www.shaadi.com/index.php
According to the toolbar PageRank: 6
cache:http:// www.shaadi.com/index.php
Shows a snapshot of an affiliate site: http:// www.shaadi.com/index.php3?ptnr=chennaionline
link:http:// www.shaadi.com/index.php
Shows 4,390 backward links
related:http:// www.shaadi.com/index.php
Gives related sites results.

These all pages lead to the same page that is http:// www.shaadi.com/index.php set as default. And prior to the dance we had PR of 6 and use to show the snapshot of homepage, which was uploaded on 13th Feb. with all the 4,390+ backward links.

Thatís not all the DMOZ category and description as gone for all the 4 cases. Where as it use to show in google results (I have checked and we are listed in DMOZ). Can anyone please but some light into this matter? Is there any way out? Has some one every come across just a problem and counter it? If yes in which way?

Regards,

8) Welcome to the forums Shaadi.

I chedked and verified your case, and it appears the page rank of your homepage is low but the PR of your interior pages is around 6 which is very respectable.

First, make sure there is nothing you did to incur a penalty, such as having another domain name pointing to this site.

you do have a subdomain with shaadi.tolshop.com but i dont think this should cause any problems.

Searching for your name gives excellent results, so its possible you dont yet have high status in google. I think your rankings will stay good.

This could be just weirdness from the dance and may sort itself out shortly.

Hi Umesh,

Google recently, over the last couple of weeks, updated their toolbar to v.1.1.7 Once they did this my toolbar, and many other folks, were about 15 kinds of screwed up and displayed results as if they were having "the dance" yet they indeed were not.

I now have the new version and it's really messed things up... since upgrading to the new one, for most people it seems to be self upgrading - but not mine for some reason - I can no longer view most web sites using javascript as it causes my interent explorer to crash with an abnormal runtime error.

I agree with Cayley, and would say, Umesh that you are probably seeing the effects of this last weird dance and or the effects of the toolbar upgrade weirdness.

best,
j
