Hello everyone!
I am new to this forum, and to website marketing via "SEARCH ENGINES".
I have a client's website that was posted previously about 5 months prior to falling into my hands. So I do not have any details on exactly how his web site was submitted. And Google is acting funny about it.
I just re-submitted <url="http://www.petsafeusa.com">PetsafeUSA.com
website URL to Google through their own website and through Hi-Visibility v5 (automated search engine submittal program). And still I get the same weird results as follows:
- By typing in the exact DNS in the search and coming up with no listing.
- By typing in the exact same thing on a different computer, then getting a listing.

- By then going back to the first computer and then getting results that were not there the first time.
- By then trying this over and over again to see if it was a one time glitch and receiving the same result just about everytime, but not necessarily in the same order.
WHAT COULD THIS POSSIBLY BE?!!!? |

Google is in the process of the "Google Dance". It has many data centers accross the US. When you do a search on google, sometimes it will go to one data center, other times it will go through a different data center. When google is in the process of an update (as they are now) the data centers get updated one at a time. So, on each search, you go to a different datacenter, wich could return different results. It looks like its dancing. Thats why they call it the "Google Dance". To verify this, you could ping google.com over and over and receive different ip addresses back, showing that you are directed to a different datacenter. You can also see an example at http://www.google-dance.com.
Another site, http://dance.efactory.de., explains the process in more detail. |
