The best way to get keywords is to use google adwords conversion data - this means putting the adwords code on your confirmation page. Using adwords data can give you an invaluable research tool using real time data for a low cost (note all marketing costs must be amortized long term). Overture and wordtracker are extremely limited for finding proper keywords.


In general, plural keyword phrases perform better than the singular version.


So "blue widgets" would probably be better than "blue widget" until you have more solid data from actual purchases.
