Do It With A Blog and RSS!
Here is the fastest, and easiest way I've found to get
a url (and multiple pages) indexed and page rank improved
AND MORE FREE traffic to your site.
If your url host provides a cpanel you probably have
something called fantistico (think that's what it's called).
Generally fantistico is the last selection on the left of
the cpanel.
It should have a number of options to create and install
a blog for you. If not, check this and other forums for
the best blog software (you'll get dozens of different
opinions) and follow up with a couple of personal inquiries
as to why they liked a particular blog software.
I use B2Evolution because it allows greater control over
keywords and input.
Here's what a blog will do for you...
Submit the blog's syndicated url to yahoo and your url
will be indexed very fast and if it's already there the page's
index rank should improve within a week or less (and the SE's
yahoo submits to will index and enhance your listing also.
Do this soon and you may also enjoy a first page listing
for most of your keywords because yahoo is currently giving
priority to rss xml's - even without traditional back links).
Within a couple of weeks you should see your url's improved
listing on at least the top 5 SE's, even for competitive keywords.
So, how about the other pages of your url?
Link your blog to them and they will also be picked up and
indexed very quickly.
Also, if you syndicate your url you can enjoy the same benefits
if you update its content on a regular basis.
Chances are excellent that your blog WILL be listed in
a higher position than your url. That's ok because the
blog will link to the url, and as you add more pages to the
blog it will "pull" the url closer to the top.
Most SEO's still don't realize the importance of rss and are
still using outdated linking strategies for their clients.
I could show proof of this strategy with my own urls that have NO
"traditional" links that are listed in the #1 thru #10 FIRST
Page listings in 7 of the top 10 SE's (some for competitive keywords
in the high multiple millions) and ALL of the minor
SE's, including PPC SE's using this technique, but this would
be considered advertising on the forum.
This works if done right, and
even if botched, you will still get great results. I have one url
that dominates yahoo on the first page for it's top keywords
(very competitive) with 8 of the top 10 listings and many more
listings on subsequent pages.
SE's are moving to rss as the indexing method of choice. Google is
falling behind but may soon catch up and is already experimenting
by adding adsense to rss feeds.
This benefit won't last much longer as more and more
webmasters become aware of the importance of RSS but you can
cash in on it now.
Link your blog to your url and multiple url pages with different
articles (you will need to update the blog at least every 3 days
to ensure frequent visits from the spiders- which will, in-turn,
visit your main url more frequently and improve page rank significantly).
Your information will be syndicated rather quickly (one of
my blogs syndicated worldwide within two weeks).
It may even index your url and other pages on the first page
for your keywords, even though they may be very competitive,
because yahoo currently seems to give priority for xml url's.
Content is still, and probably will remain a key factor in SE
indexing. The HUGE advantage you have with rss is the
capability to make changes to your information immediately,
and SE's love new content.
If you use your blog url (in your signature) to post in high
ranking forums you will also enjoy some great links. XML
links seem to be working much better than traditional links
now and yahoo seems to be giving more weight to them.
Syndicaton dramatically improves traffic. Enjoy!
Hope this helps. |
