The day many people have been waiting for - Yahoo dropping Google for Inktomi search engine results. This will make Google responsible for about 53% of all web searches instead of its present 80%

The catch is Inktomi may move to a CPC-only based ranking system. So it would be similar to the current looksmart situation, where your rankings are determined by the size of your wallet, not the quality of your website.

Currently it is possible to be included in Inktomi through PFI programs through positiontech.com and others. However there is no guarantee Yahoo will honor these in its new results.

an excellent article predicting the Yahoo change
